In the last few years, The mobile phone has developed immensely. From a device that is used just to make a call and talk, today it is used to make a million dollars and more importantly to destroy million dollars.
Here is the list of top gadgets and technologies which used to rule the world at some point in time, but got destroyed by phones.

Tape recorder
The primary function of the tape recorder is to record and listen to any kind of audio which can now be performed more easily with the help of a phone. As compared to tape recorders, mobile phones are much more convenient and easy to carry on and use.


Public telephone booths
According to research, From a peak of 2.6 million public payphones in the mid-1990s, there are only 2% of that are remaining in the US. The main reason is Mobile Phones. In modern times, it is difficult near impossible to find someone who doesn't use mobile phones. Researchers say that 91.54% of the world population uses a phone which is on average 9 for every ten

Telephones
It is just a matter of time when the analog Telephones will be extinct from businesses and offices just like our houses. As we know technology is leaps and bounds, it is common to become extinct when the new one replaces it. So the truth is analog telephones are on that list of extinction.



Pager Beepers
Yeah, it is still in use in hospitals and nursing, but not as in the past. As of 1994, there were over 61 million pagers in use which decreased to just 2 million now. The only reason beepers are still used is the reliability of the paging network. When there will be a new technology for that, pagers and beepers will be obsoleted.


Calculator
A common yet remarkable invention of all time Calculator. A device used for calculation. There used to be a time when not a single home and shop doesn't have a calculator. But because of the mobile phones, there is a huge dip in the usage of calculators. The place we use calculators now is just a few shops and colleges unless the institution doesn't allow phone usage. 


Television
We all have witnessed the growth and downfall of TV. In the late 19s and early 20s TV was the most essential piece of any household. But due to the rise of streaming platforms and how we can watch anything from anywhere through mobile phones, the usage of TV has gone down. In no time, the TV will be just a decorative item.


         DVD and DVD Players
We can say that the DVD player and TV are the best pair of all time. They coexist and will and have died together. With the rapid growth of streaming platforms and how they can be viewed each and everything in a small box called mobile phones, the usage of the DVD player has decreased gradually and will become extinct within a few years.

As with most technology, the MP3 player dominated for a short while. Their appeal has waned as the accessibility and affordability of smartphones have increased. Suddenly, some devices can play your music and do so much more. Makes MP3 players almost obsolete.

Maybe it's already dead. The main reason why the typewriter got obsoleted is it's heavy and bulky. There might be a few places where the typewriter was still used, but for sure within a few years, it will get completely obsolete.
